We all face obstacles in our lives. During his 69 years Bill faced many obstacles that he attacked with wisdom, sarcasm, humility, and love. As a 10-year-old his family relocated for the second time moving first from Cabin Creek, West Virginia to Almira New York then to Michigan.
Bill had a diverse work life. He became a computer operator working for banks, City of Flint and other companies. Bill was a staff member of a state senator and state representative in the 1980s. He enjoyed politics, volunteering for many campaigns from local to presidential while active with the 3rd District Democratic Club, Genesee County Democratic Party and Young Democrats.
Bill loved helping others. He worked with teens at the Eastside Teen Center and the Eastside Community Center. The community was served with a food bank, clothing, summer lunch for kids, Christmas gifts and food, an annual Christmas party and recreation in a safe environment, funded by bingo and donations. Many people have commented that Bill made a difference in their lives.
The loss of loved ones was a difficult obstacle for Bill. His first loss was his sister Rita who died having a tonsillectomy at a young age. He would also survive his sisters Tammy Robinson and Vickie (Tom) James, his parents Billy Robinson and Mary (Oscar) Weaver, in-laws Gino's, Sophie Barry (Nancy Turner) Macciomei.
Bill loved reading something he missed terribly when his vision failed. We traveled through the US, Canada and Italy, our last trip to view the solar eclipse. Sincere appreciation to the staff of Burton Davita for the loving care during Bill's dialysis journey. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the family. Bill leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 48 years Darlene (Macciomei), sisters Diane Rodriguez and Ann Robinson, special cousin Oliver Christian, many nieces, nephews, and friends.
