William Michael
Prim
Jan 4, 1950 — Jun 16, 2021
Flint Township
PRIM, William M., known to all as "Bill," of Flint Township, age 71, passed away June 16, 2021 at Hurley Medical Center. At his request, cremation has taken place. Bill was a Gift of Life donor and was able to help others in this way. Bill was born January 4, 1950 in Flint, where he grew up. He was retired from TTX where he worked in the Robotics Department. Bill had a lot of interests including camping, fishing, boating, and recently he had started woodworking again. Anyone who knew him would agree that he took pride in his yard. It wasn't unusual to see him on his tractor, or visiting his son or neighbors after mowing his yard, still on his tractor. Bill also took pride in his family. He loved having everyone over for holidays and cookouts. Anytime was a good time to get together. Christmas breakfast was a big deal: Bill took over cooking for the whole family! Pounds of bacon and sausage, dozens of eggs, along with biscuits and gravy. His grandsons Jarred, Johnny, Matthew, Pattrick, and Loran looked forward to this every year. Bill had so much love for these boys. When they were small they kept him entertained and as they got older they would stop over to help him with something or just to visit. Any time they were all together it was a party, and he would sit back and enjoy. Seventeen years after his youngest grandson Loran was born, came our first granddaughter, Bella, followed six years later by our second granddaughter, Savhanna. To say Bill was smitten would be an understatement. He loved what he referred to as "His Baby Girls." As a bonus, he also had three great granddaughters, Emersyn, Kyah, and Gracelynn. Bill was also crazy about them. Even though Emersyn was not on the same page, she was coming around. Bill said she was a work in progress. He always thought they were extra special. Then we have our only great grandson, Jaden. Bill thought he was extra special too. This little boy always came in with a hug and left with one too. He always called Bill "Poppa Prim." Bill and Carol were married for 53 years and had their three kids, Michelle, Susanne, and Billy to help them through good and bad times. Bill was always proud of his family. Michelle moved out of state, but he called her often, and looked forward to her and her boys visits every July. Michelle living on a farm was a natural thing. Susanne has always been over to help with spring clean-up and flower planting, along with just dropping over for no reason at all. Susanne moving out to Mayville and starting a farm was……..unexpected! Bill said, "Susie on a farm. Didn't see that one coming." Billy was always around for the ten-plus calls a day that his dad made to him. He always answered. Bill seemed to always have something going on that his son would help him out with. They were best friends and no two people understood each other more than they did. The calls about cars, trucks, building, or anything, they could usually come up with an answer to solve the problem. Carol and her family would like to thank all their relatives, friends, and neighbors for their support, prayers, gifts, texts, cards, and calls that shared encouragement and love. They appreciate all of you. Carol continues (It took her a month to write this), "Bill leaves us all to remember him as he was: funny, loving, grumpy, and politically incorrect. He loved without conditions, laughed at inappropriate things, and came up with his own vocabulary at times. As my Mom said once, 'Bill Prim has his faults, but he loves his family one hundred percent and nothing will ever change that.' And his family will always love him the same way. So we leave a 'Big" until we see him again. We love you Mr. Prim."
