CRUTHERS, William Howard, of Davison Township, formerly of Flint Township, age 86, died Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at his residence. Cremation has taken place. Final interment will be in Sunset Hills Cemetery. Memorial services will be held 1:00 P.M., Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Unity Christian Church, 5255 South Linden Road, Pastor Brenda Etheridge officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice. Bill was born in Flint, Michigan, June 20, 1930, the son of Don H. and Irene C. (Thompson) Cruthers. He graduated GMI in 1953. After serving in the U.S. Army from 1953-1955 he returned to work at Buick Motor Division from which he retired. He married Dorothy J. King May 3, 1957. Together they had two children. Dorothy passed away March 28, 1988 in Tucson, Arizona. He then married Alice Barrett Anderson, June 3, 1989. She passed away in 2016. He was a member of Unity Christian Church. Surviving are: daughter, Wendy (and fiance Ken Dinges and his daughter Kendra) Zapfe; son James Cruthers; 2 grandchildren, Tom and wife Heather Zapfe, and Keturah Zapfe; great grandsons, Graysen and Grant; special niece, Lynn Michel; several other nieces and nephews; and all of Alice's family whom he loved dearly.
