NELSON, Wheeler Lynn, of Flint Township, formerly of LaFollette, Tennessee, age 97, went home to be with his Lord and Savior and reunited with his loving wife, son, daughter, and other family members on Friday, May 21, 2021 at Serenity Assisted Living. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, May 26th, 2021at Martin-Wilson Funeral Home, LaFollette, Tennessee, Rev. Fred Stagnolia officiating. The interment will follow the funeral service at Bakers Forge Cemetery with military honors being presented by the Campbell County Honor Guard.  The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 25th, 2021 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Martin-Wilson Funeral Home.  Wheeler was born April 19, 1924 in LaFollette, Tennessee to the late William Rose Nelson and Sara Margaret (Boshears) Nelson. He was a United States Army Veteran, where he served his country proudly. Wheeler was a member of Little Cove Creek Baptist Church. He enjoyed reading his bible and working outdoors.  Wheeler is survived by his sons, Lynn Nelson and wife, Doris of Jacksboro, Gary Nelson and wife, Hazel of Columbia, Tennessee, and Sammy Nelson of LaFollette; daughter, Kathy Murphy and husband, Larry of Cadillac, Michigan; brother, Robert Nelson of Loudon; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Nelson of Bandy, Virginia; seventeen grandchildren, several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Delphia (Lawson) Nelson; son, Ronnie Nelson; daughter, Linda Nelson; brothers, Charlie, Dewey, Millard, and Paul Nelson; sisters, Emma Jean Cooper-Long and Callie Richardson.
