McComb, Wayne Edgar, age 66, died Sunday, November 4, 2018.  Please join us to commemorate his life 12:00 Noon,  Sunday November 11, 2018, at the Plumb – Smith funeral Home, 1208 N. Ballenger Highway, Flint Township.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that instead, you arrive prepared to share your memories.  Wayne was born October 29, 1952.  If you were fortunate enough to have known him, you knew a talented musician, a well-traveled map-lover, a diehard Tigers fan, a GM retiree, and a man with many years of proud sobriety. You knew an affable, kind soul. You knew a man who had a love for all things fast and loud, yet also the library and reading, by way of which he accumulated an intimate knowledge of many subjects. Even those of you touched by only short visits would have been treated to earnest conversations about anything from mother nature's wonder to world history and everything in between.  Wayne was a career musician, a brilliant drummer, gigging around the US for many years and a staple in local music scenes for decades. As would seem fitting, his final gig was at his son's backyard wedding reception.  Wayne is survived by his son, Patrick McComb, daughter in law Sara McComb, twin brother Wendell McComb, sister Leslee Barker, step-son Joshua Burns, and his granddaughters Allison McComb, Isabelle McComb and Alexa Burns, as well as a wide host of extended family.  Wayne was taken from us way too soon, he will be sorely and eternally missed.
