PARSONS, Walter Edgar, II, of Flint Township, age 79, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at his residence.  Mr. Parsons will lie in state at the Plumb-Smith Funeral Home, G-1208 N. Ballenger Highway, Flint Township, where friends may visit 1-6 PM, Saturday, June 13, 2020. (CDC recommended social distancing and state required limit of 10 people gathering at any one time will be observed.  Facemasks required at all times.)  Burial will be later at Great Lakes National Cemetery.  Walter was born in Flushing, Michigan, September 6, 1940, the son of Walter and Maude (Throgmorton) Parsons.  He served his country in The United States Marine Corps.  Walter operated Parson's Building Company in Flushing.  He was a member of South Baptist Church and the Reformers Unanimous.  He married the former Gay Genevieve Harvill (Perez)  July 12, 1985 at Baring Cross Baptist Church.  Left to cherish his memory are:  wife of 34 1/2 years, Genevieve; stepchildren, Sabrina (Christopher) Kramer, Richard (Susan) Perez, Thomas Perez, and Dara Perez; brothers, Paul (Marilynn) Parsons and Douglas (Jane) Parsons; sister, Vi Martin; Marine buddy, Jerry (Barb) Latham;  canine buddy, Snowball.  He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Harry L. Sullins; stepsons Dennis Perez and Timothy Perez, brother-in-law Donald Martin, and nephew Rick Martin.  The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Registered Nurse Amanda, and all the staff at American Home Health and Hospice.
