Virginia Christine Melancon, age 97, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2025. She was reunited in heaven with her Lord and Savior, her husband Larry, as well as family members and friends. She is survived by her sister, five children, twelve grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, three great, great grandchildren, and her trusted and loving companion, Lexi.

Chris was born in Marmaduke, Arkansas on January 4, 1928. At the age of six-months she relocated to Flint, Michigan where she lived out the remainder of her life. She met the love of her life during her junior year at Kearsley High School where she graduated as Valedictorian.

Chris supported her husband as he started his own business. In 1965, he bought the A&W on Clio and Pierson Roads. In 1970, they opened the A&W in Flushing. They worked side by side for many years.

Alongside her husband, Chris was a faithful servant of our Lord, Jesus Christ. They were truly blessed and had the opportunity to bless others. She went on missionary trips to Haiti, helped fund the building of Judson Baptist Church, and helped create Judson Christian Academy.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Old Newsboys of Flint.
