SMITH, Shannon Elizabeth, age 39, of Flint, passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at her home with family by her side. Shannon fought a hard battle with cancer. She was born at Hurley Hospital December 13, 1978 to Frederick M. and Linda D. (Wamsley) Smith Jr. Shannon had a long history of health issues that led her to be legally disabled at the young age of 35. Through everything she remained a loving and helpful person to all. She was a friend to everyone and was willing to help anyone in need. Some of her favorite things to do were go shopping, get her nails done, scratch lotto tickets, and play a variety of games. She hosted many holiday events throughout the years as the holidays were her favorite. Most of all she loved spending quality time with her children and grandson. Surviving is her father, Frederick M. Smith Jr.; children, Justina Keller (AnQuawn Burt), Kendall Smith, Kaylee Smith; grandson, Kaiden Burt; siblings, Timothy Parker, Thomas (Regina) Parker, Natalie Parker, Lisa Smith (Galen Sweeney); grandmother, Doris Wamsley; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews; long time boyfriend, Montaque Hart; fathers of her children, Kenneth Goosby, Timmy Keller; and many childhood friends. Shannon was preceded in death by her mother, Linda D. Smith. A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 12, 2018 at Plumb-Smith Funeral Home, G-1208 N. Ballenger Hwy., Flint Township, Minister Annie Duncan officiating. A celebration of life dinner will follow at the Mundy Presbyterian Church in Swartz Creek.
