PAYNE, Shane Edward, of Genesee Township, age 43, passed away Monday, August 13, 2018 at his residence, after a long battle with heart disease. He was born January 29, 1975, and resided on the east side of Flint most of his life. He liked to travel and lived in Oklahoma and Kalamazoo for a few years, where he met many friends. He loved spending time with his children and had a special bond with his nieces and nephews. He loved to play video games, listen to music, smoke cigarettes while drinking Mt. Dew and hang out with his friends. He shared his love of watching wrestling and scary movies. Shane loved to say this special poem to his mom when he would come in and out of surgery; I love you little, I love you big, I love you like my little pig. Left to cherish his memory are his children: Cherokee Payne, Dylan Payne and Tosha Falcon; parents, Cheryl and Samuel Sharon; father, Michael Payne Sr.; sister, Shawndell Payne; brothers, Michael (Jeniel) Payne, Chad Robbins, Billy Moore, Charlie Sharon, Bobby Moore, and Patrick Payne; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; wife, Cherie Carriveau-Payne; special friends, Jean Ball, Eva Freiburger Gregoire, Rick Gunnerfeldt, Steve McCall and many more. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Carl and Ruby Taylor, Edison and Hannah Payne; sister, Fawn Robbins; and cousin, Steven Bellman. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in care of Plumb-Smith Funeral Home to contribute to a family memorial fund. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at Kearsley Park in Flint, Sunday, September 9 at 1 p.m., Rev. Bonnie Neighorn will officiate.
