Obituary

SIES , Rose Ann (Pastue), of Flint, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly on November 21, 2025, at the age of 65, at her residence of more than forty years. Caring, friendly, fun, reliable, hardworking, and resilient in the face of hardship, Rose always put others before herself. She was deeply loved and admired by her family and many friends.

Born March 28, 1960, in Flint, Rose was the daughter of Genell and Metro (Vince) Pastue. She graduated from Flint Northern High School in 1978. For many years, Rose worked for the City of Flint, spending her summers in the clubhouses at all four municipal golf courses and her winters bartending at the IMA Sports Arena. She later spent more than a decade with Diplomat Pharmacy, delivering medications to patients in need. Known for her friendly nature and quick wit, Rose was a familiar face throughout the community—there wasn't a place you could go with her where she didn't know someone.

A true family matriarch, Rose married Calvin Sies on September 15, 1984, and they shared nearly forty years of marriage before his passing in June 2024.

Rose is survived by her daughter Linsey (Joshua) Paris and granddaughters Ellie and Alyvia of Mayville; stepson Scott Sies of Flint and grandchildren Sarah and Sam; granddaughter McKenzie Shivlie of Tallahassee, Florida; brother Vincent (Annette) Pastue of Farmington; sister Victoria (Scott) Swedorski of Roswell, Georgia; brother- and sister-in-law Ken and Sonja Sies; sister- and brother-in-law Judy and Mike Frost; ten nieces and nephews; numerous cousins; and her special-needs sister Delores, whom Rose lovingly served as guardian for more than twenty years. She is also remembered by many dear friends who became family.

She was preceded in death by her husband Cal, her parents Genell and Vince Pastue, her in-laws Elmer and Betty Sies, and her stepson Brady Sies.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place.

A memorial luncheon will be held Noon-4:00 P.M., Wednesday, December 3, 2025 with prayers at Noon, at Holy Redeemer Church, 1227 East Bristol Road, Burton.
