Obituary

GAY, Ronald Harold, of Reddick, Florida, formerly of Fenton, Michigan, age 75, passed away Monday, July 13th, 2020, at Advent Health, Ocala, Florida.  Cremation has taken place.  He will be laid to rest in Sarasota National Cemetery with full military honors at a date to be announced later.  Ronald was born in Flint, Michigan, June 24, 1945, to Harold and Pauline (Hammond) Gay.  He played basketball and golf at Fenton High School, where he was a 1963 graduate.  Ron served in the United States Army and was a proud veteran of the Vietnam War.  After returning from the Army, Ron worked for General Motors at the  Fisher-Body and Buick City plants for 30 years.  Ron was a Fenton area resident for many years, and an active member of the local chapters Veterans of Foreign Wars, Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Vietnam Veterans of America, and the Moose Lodge.  Ron loved golfing, fishing, cooking, boating, and living life to the fullest. After retirement he eventually moved permanently to the Riverwood Community in Port Charlotte, Florida where he made many dear friends.  He is survived by his wife, Susan Fischer; daughters, Erin (Dale) King of Linden, Michigan and Renae (Troy) Muzer of Durand, Michigan; step-daughters Rachel (David) Snyder of Citra, Florida and Megan (Dean) Graham of Reddick, Florida; beloved grandchildren,  Caleb, Sydney, Paige, Taylor, Ava, Spencer, Alexander and Grant; brothers, Lawrence (Tammy) Gay of Franklin, North Carolina and Edward (Cindy) Wood of Gould City, Michigan; also, the mother of his children, Dixie Dembek of Linden, Michigan.  Ronald is preceded in death by his father Harold Gay, mother Pauline Wood, step-mother Mary Gay, and sister Beverly Nault.
