BENFIELD, Ronald William, of Flushing, age 54, died Friday, September 16, 2016 at his residence. Funeral services will be held 4 PM Tuesday at the Plumb-Smith Funeral Home. Cremation will follow. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10AM until the time of service Tuesday. Ron was a loving husband, father, brother, papa, great papa, uncle, and friend. Those who knew Ron knew he loved his family. He was one proud Papa and loved his family time. His happy place was on his bike in the company of good friends and his wife. He also loved wrenching on cars, motorcycles, or just about anything with an engine. His spirit will live on in family and friends forever. Surviving are: wife, Sherry Benfield; children, Lori & James Oliver, Elizabeth & Joshua Carpenter, Angie Benfield, Ronald & Adriana Benfield, and Jacob & Jessica Benfield; 12 grandkids; 1 great grandkid; mom, Mary Benfield; sister, Teresa Webb; brother, James Benfield; 13 nieces and nephews; many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his dad, William R. Benfield and his brother, Fred "Thunder" Huntley.
