PRESTON, Robert Gregory, Sr., of Lapeer, Michigan, age 73, died Sunday, October 27, 2024 at home, surrounded by his family.  Cremation has taken place. Final interment will take place 2:30 P.M., Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Road, Holly, Michigan.  A Remembrance of Life Celebration will be held for family and friends, 3:00 P.M., Saturday, December 14, 2024, at the Lapeer Center Building, 425 County Center Street, Lapeer, Michigan.

Robert was born in Pontiac, Michigan, December 4, 1950, the son of Douglas and Jean (Hotchkiss) Preston.  He was a proud veteran of the United States Army.  Robert worked many years as a custodian for Detroit Country Day School. He loved Golf, Bowling, Camping, Biking and many other outdoor activities. He was the family Corn Hole Champion.

Surviving are wife of 30 years, Lorene (Lori) Preston; children, Lisa (Mike Schumacher) Preston-Benett, Robert (Jennifer) Preston, Jr., and Eric (Tina) Preston; stepchildren, Rebekah (John ) Adams, Carl (Shena) Putnam, Jason (Megan) Putnam, and Ron (Tammy) Putnam; grandchildren, Rhys, Roen, Allison (John), Gracie, Brenden (Ciarra), Jordan, Devon, Mariah, Kiara, Mikael, Kendall, Donavin, Jennifer, Bailey, Elijah, Ava, Evalynn, and Mya; many great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; sisters and brothers, Georgie, Don, Sue, Max, and Kim. Robert was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Nita.
