Ellis, Ricky "Rick" of Burton, Michigan, age 62, passed away on Sunday August 25, 2019, at his residence surrounded by loved ones. A Celebration of Life will be held at 4pm on Sunday September  1, 2019 at the VFW Hall at G4138 Corunna Rd, Flint, MI. We encourage all who have known and loved him to gather with us and share memories.

Born in Fort Knox, Kentucky, on September 10, 1957, Rick moved around the country throughout his childhood, settling in Michigan in 1972. He was a proud Carman Cougar, graduating in 1976. He served in the Army as a combat medic from 1976-1979. Upon completion of his service he returned to Michigan and met the love of his life, Rosemary Sue Carter. They married August 16, 1980 and had three wonderful children. He was employed by First Inertia Switch/ First Technology from 1990 until the shop closed in 2006.

Rick will always be remembered for his stellar air guitar performances, his passion for the Detroit Tigers, and most importantly, his love for his family. He was known for his loud and enthusiastic support at his son's sporting events and wished that he could have made it to more of his grandsons'.  It was important to him to spend time together as a family and they continued to have family dinner nights and movie viewings until his last days.

He will be received in heaven by his wife Rosemary Ellis, his parents Claude Ellis and Margaret "Peggy" Ellis, his brothers John Rogers and Joe Rogers, and sister-in-law Nina Rogers. He is survived by daughters Sarah Ellis and Rachel Ellis, his son Ricky Ellis and daughter-in-law Marlisa "Marly" Ellis, his grandchildren Noah Ellis (15), Jacob Ellis (13), Ella Rose Ellis (12), Eben Parker (10), and Christian Ellis (8).
