Rev. Larry Dale
Murphy
Jul 12, 1950 — Oct 16, 2026
Flint Township, Michigan
July 12th, 1950, Larry Dale Murphy was born to William and Eva Murphy in Maryville, Tennessee. He spent his adolescent years on the family home place in Violet, N.C. He made his way to Detroit, Mich. in the 1960’s to work where he landed a job with Chrysler where he would remain working for the next 30 plus years. In 1976 he met and married his bride, Kathy. Together had three children; Kisha, Jason, and Eric. While in Michigan Larry answered the call to the ministry. For the majority of his adult life he worked full time at Chrysler, while simultaneously preaching the gospel full time. This is a testament of how Larry lived his life, always staying busy, constantly on the go, and telling everyone about his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Larry had the privilege of officiating all three of his children's weddings. These weddings lead to grandchildren and great grandchildren that he loved very much. Larry spent his retirement years back on the homeplace where he gave blood, sweat and tears to bring the property back to its former glory. He found great enjoyment in keeping the homeplace meticulously manicured. He finished his life's work back in Michigan living and traveling with his wife Kathy and their son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren. Larry truly loved people and people truly loved and respected him. Larry went to be with the Lord surrounded by family. His last moments were filled with love and laughter. His family finds peace knowing that this is not a good-bye, simply a see you later. Larry lived a full and faithful life; well done, good and faithful servant. Welcome home!
