SCALES, Randel Leon, of Valdosta, Georgia, age 63, died Tuesday, October 8, 2019 in South Point, Ohio.  Funeral Services will be held 1 PM Thursday at the Plumb-Smith Funeral Home. Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery. Family will receive friends 4:00 - 8:00 PM Wednesday at the Plumb-Smith Funeral Home, G-1208 N. Ballenger Hwy., Flint Township.  Randy was born September 26, 1956 in Flint, the son of Elmo and Leatha (Ingram) Scales.  He grew up in Flint.  He had worked as a cab driver and  a semi-truck driver, He also worked with a traveling carnival for several years.  For the last 4 1/2 years he resided in Valdosta, Georgia.  At the time of his death he was an employee of Prime Retail Services.  Randy married Linda Lightle May 6, 1978.  Together they had three children.  After divorcing in 1990 they remained friends and were living together in Valdosta.  Surviving are:  2 daughters, Mindy Sue Paz-Sanchez and Amanda Rae Coats; son, Roger Lee Scales;  11 grandchilddren, Ariel Amilio Paz-Sanchez, Madison Marie Coats, Erin Rene Coats, Anastiasa Neavias Paz-Sanchez, Trina Lee Coats, Christopher Michael Linhorst, Joshua Reid Coats, Chelsey Lynn Scales, Carly Kay Scales, Zoey Grace Jefferies, and Carson Edward Scales; 3 great grandchildren, Audrey Eileen Coats, Levi Malcolm Graham, and Ezra Asher Graham; brother, Ronald Scales of Flint; sister, Regina Gunnel of Mt. Morris.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Rhonda Kietzman.
