HIGGINS, Phillip Orlando, of Flint Township, age 65, died Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at his residence, after many years of chronic illnesses.   Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, April 29, 2022 at Sunset Hills Cemetery.  Mr. Higgins will lie in state at the Plumb-Smith Funeral Home, G-1208 North Ballenger Highway, Flint Township, where family will receive friends 10:00 AM - Noon, April 29.   Phillip Orlando Higgins was born October 4,1956 in Flint Michigan the son of  Thelbert and Cynthia Higgins.  Phillip, who was called "Doc" by many of his friends, attended Flint Public Schools.   While attending High School he was enrolled in Genesee County Vocational Skill Center where he developed his love for automobile mechanics earning additional automotive mechanic certification. This helped him obtain employment with General Motors skilled trades apprenticeship program at Chevrolet Metal Fabrication Plant.   He retired on disability after 20 years of service.   Phillip is survived by his brother Marvin (Nancy) Higgins, many relatives and friends.
