KORPI, Norman, of Mt. Morris Township, age 91, died Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at McLaren Flint.  Funeral services will be held  1:00 PM Monday at the Plumb-Smith Funeral Home. Burial in Flint Memorial Park.  Mr. Korpi will lie in state at the Plumb-Smith Funeral Home, G-1208 N. Ballenger Hwy., Flint Township, where friends may visit  10:00 AM - 8:00 PM Sunday. Norman was born in  Louds Spur, Michigan, September 25, 1928.  He married Betty Halbedel October 31, 1950. She preceded him in death November 14, 2000.  Norm was a founding member of Disabled American Veterans Chapter 122.  He was very proud of his Finnish heritage and enjoyed his time in the Upper Peninsula.  Surviving are:  children, Norman (Robyn) Korpi, Diane (Arnold) Hart, Marvin Korpi and Larry (Bonnie) Korpi;  grandchildren, Norman III, Brandi, Crisy, Mindy (Ron), Andrew (Crystal), Dana (Timothy) and Bryan; 8 great grandchildren; He was preceded in death by his wife Betty in 2000, and son Jack in 2003, and all 11 of his siblings.
