WALSH, Nancy Suzanne (Susie), of Swartz Creek, age 70, passed away peacefully at home with family at her side Wednesday, October 31, 2018, after a brief illness.  Cremation has taken place.  Funeral services will be held 11AM Thursday at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.  Susie was born on October 17, 1948, in Flint, Michigan the daughter of James and Maxine Atkins.  She worked as a nurse's aid and therapist aid for many years.  Susie also had a foster care home where she was a caregiver for the elderly.  She was very generous with those less fortunate and enjoyed working at the soup kitchen, even on holidays, and would take food to the homeless near her home.  She was an advocate for animal rescue and she loved her cats, Bella and Patch.  She mostly enjoyed spending time with her family, especially with her granddaughters.  She had a great sense of humor and was very playful.  She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Maxine, and her brother, John David.  She is survived by her son, Robert Canfield, her granddaughters, Kristin Canfield and LeAnne Canfield, her great-grandchildren, Jackson, Jocelynn, Noah, and Parker, her siblings, Carolyn and (John) Bridges, Chris Atkins, Jim Atkins, and Paul (Cathy) Atkins, many nieces and nephews, and last but not least, Bella and Patch.  Susie will be greatly missed.
