Obituary

LINCOLN, Matthew David, of Flint, age 54, died Thursday, December 15, 2016 at his residence. Funeral services will be held 4 PM Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at the Plumb-Smith Funeral Home, Rev. Sarah LaRose-Nettell officiating. Cremation will follow. Mr. Lincoln will lie in state at the Plumb-Smith Funeral Home, G-1208 N. Ballenger Hwy., Flint Township, where friends may visit from 10AM until the time of service Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a family memorial fund, enveloppes will be available at the funeral home. Mat was born January 22, 1962 in Flint, the son of Richard and LuAnn Marie (Persails) Lincoln; He attended Flint Southwestern High School and worked as a sign maker. He married Tina Hurtado October 25, 1986 in Flint. Mat's life was his family. He loved being "Papa" to his grandson Miguel. He enjoyed the game of golf and he loved to go shooting. And then there were the stories he would tell sitting on the porch in the summer with "the old time crew." The family wishes to thank two special people, Christopher and Steve Poulos, for all their help. They also wish to extend a big thank you to all their friends and family for their support. Surviving are: wife of 30 years, Tina Lincoln; two children, Eric and Amanda; grandson, Miguel; mother, LuAnn Lincoln; father, Richard (Dick) Lincoln; 4 brothers, Floyd (Vicki) Lincoln, Ric (Sugar) Lincoln, Mark (Joanne) Lincoln, and Joe Lincoln; sisters- and brothers-in-law, Mag Hoover, Rodney Hoover, Sue Green, Matt Green, Tracy Lincoln, Dave Hurtado, and Milton Hurtado; nephews, Cris Lincoln, Jeremy (Rhonda) Lincoln, Tommy Hudson, Chris Costello, Jeffery Green, Joey (Lindsey) Hoover, Chad (Sara) Hoover, Rod (Shawn) Hoover, and Michael Hoover; special nieces, Baby Lisa Costello, Nancy Lincoln, niece, Joanna Lincoln; Tasha Hurtado; special cousin, Carl Maddox; special young men, Mikey Truett and Tim LaBarge; special friends, Gary Harris, Mark and Roger Kinney, Bud Frappier, and Tim; special second mom , Barb Gillespie; canine friends, Patches, Abbey, and Jaxson; great nieces and nephews, Caitlyn, Galtin, Brandon, Little Rodney, Alex, Benjamin, and Sophia.
