BROOKMAN, Mary Ruth, age 57, of Swartz Creek, passed away Thursday, August 8, 2019 at North Florida Regional Medical Center, Gainesville, Florida.  Funeral services will be held 1 PM Friday, August 16, 2019 at the Plumb-Smith Funeral Home, Rev. Sarah LaRose-Nettell officiating.  Burial in Flint Memorial Park.  Mrs. Brookman will lie in state at the Plumb-Smith Funeral Home, G-1208 N. Ballenger Hwy., Flint Township, where friends may visit 10AM - 8PM Thursday.  Mary was born in Flint, March 11, 1962, the daughter of George and Ruth (Newlin) Perkins.  She retired after 30 years as a Registered Nurse at McLaren Flint.  Mary loved spending weekends at Disney and was a proud annual platinum pass holder.  She loved her beautiful grandchildren who were the light of her life.  In her spare time she enjoyed doing arts and crafts, and she love sunshine and the beach.  She will be deeply missed.  She is survived by her husband of 37 years, James Brookman; 2 daughters, Brandi (Shawn) Brookman and Amanda (Dave) Kaiser; son, James (Trisha) Brookman; grandchildren, Landen, Haylie, Dylan, and Aurora; brother, Alan (Audra) Perkins; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
