Flushing Township
RUSZKOWSKI, Lorna Esther (Noack), of Flint, age 91, passed peacefully from this place on April 28, 2020, and was met in God's arms by Leon her husband of over 50 years, and by daughters Ginger (Charles) Jezycke and Kathy Khirfan and son Rodney. Cremation has taken place. Memorial service arrangements will be announced following the termination of Covid-19 gathering restrictions. Final interment will be in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St John Vianney Catholic Church in Flint Michigan or to your local animal rescue shelter. Lorna was born January 14, 1929 in Alma, Michigan to Ester and Carl Noack, Lorna moved with her husband Leon and their young family to Flint where they soon became lifelong members of St John Vianney Catholic parish. Lorna was active in the Altar Society for many years, helping to provide services to parish members and students of St John Vianney School. Throughout her life, Lorna enjoyed gardening whether it was a vegetable garden for a growing family or flower beds to brighten a city yard. With seven children, there were always pets at home and Lorna was a supporter of animal rescue efforts long after she had raised her family. Once retirement allowed, she accompanied Leon on his quest for the perfect lapidary material (aka rocks) provided those quests included visits with children and grandchildren spread across the country. Lorna spent her last years in the wonderful care of her sons and the staff at Hyde Park Specialized Care where she resided. The family wishes to thank the staff at Hyde Park and Heart to Heart Hospice for their loving care of our mother. Lorna is survived by sons Roger and Paul and by daughters Linda (Donald) Whitmore and Judy (Steven Earl) Ruszkowski. Lorna also leaves behind five grandchildren, two brothers, a sister, and dozens of nieces and nephews.
