BUCHLER, Kenneth Walter, of Flint, age 80, died Friday, December 10, 2021 at McLaren Flint.  Funeral services will be held 11 AM Thursday, December 16, 2021 at United in Christ Lutheran Church, 6330 Corunna Road, Flint Township, Rev. Steve Stahlhut officiating.  Burial in Crestwood Memorial Cemetery.  Mr. Buchler will lie in state at the Plumb-Smith Funeral Home, G-1208 North Ballenger Highway, Flint Township, where friends may visit 10 AM - 8 PM Wednesday.  Ken was born June 27, 1941 in Alpena, Michigan, the son of Alfred and Olga (Schlak) Buchler.  He grew up on the family farm in Hillman graduating from Hillman High School.  He served in the United States Army where he learned the trade of welding.  He married Carleen Karsten October 10, 1964.  He worked as a skilled tradesman at General Motors for 37 years. Ken enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family.  Surviving are: wife Carleen Buchler; 3 sons, Paul (Rose) Buchler, Mark (Amy) Buchler, and Tom Buchler;  grandchildren, Jaquie, Devin, Raven, Darin, Samuel, Michael, Aiden, Adam, Sarah, Lila, and Abigail; 5 great grandchildren;  sisters-in-law, Karen Buchler, Mary Karsten, and Anita Augsburger; 17 nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter-in-law Jennifer, brothers Robert, Donald, and Ervin, mother- and father-in-law Herman and Grace Karsten, sisters-in-law Maude, Linda, and Sharon, brothers-in-law Paul, Donald, Richard, and Edward.
