STAFFORD, Karen Lee (Kearns), of Flint, age 82, died Sunday, November 3, 2024 at McLaren Flint Hospital. Cremation has taken place.  Karen was born June 24, 1942 in Glen Dale, West Virginia, the daughter of Thomas and Helen (Montgomery) Kearns.  She lived and raised her family in Genesee County. Karen worked at McLaren Hospital for 44 years, starting July 24, 1980 as a unit clerk on the 9th floor where she was able to spend her last few days being visited by a tight-knit group of co-workers.  Special Thanks to those who currently work on the 9th Floor, who made her feel at home and cared for.

Surviving are, children, Dawn Marie (Michael) Lackney, Debra Kaleen Leese, and Michael Thomas (Kristina) Stafford; grandchildren, Mark Owen, Ashley, Christopher, Justin, Kearstyn, Arekson, Braelyn, Michael, Joshua, Katelyn, Megan, and Josh; great grandchildren, Shyan, Hannah, Kaydence, Caleb, Brody, Kinsley, Bexley, Haelyn, Zoe, Elton, Junior, Alivia, and Joshua.

She is preceded in death by her son, Mark Wayne, her parents, her sister, Bonnie, and her brother, Kevin.
