SKYRME-ROAT, Kaleb Jon " Cubby," of Flint, age 13, sadly and very unexpectedly passed away Thursday June 3, 2021, with his family by his side. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, June 11,2021 at the Plumb-Smith Funeral Home, G-1208 N. Ballenger Highway, Flint Township, Pastor Craig Dockery of The Harbor Church officiating. Kaleb will lie in state at the Plumb-Smith Funeral Home where friends may visit 10:00 AM until the time of service Friday. Kaleb will be laid to rest with his grandfather, Michael E. Roat, and great grandfather, David A. Roat, at Flint Memorial Park at a later date. Kaleb was born in Flint, May 9, 2008. He enjoyed hanging out with his family and friends every chance he got. He also enjoyed playing basketball, football, riding bikes, and playing video games. He was a 6th grader at Neithercut Elementary school. Kaleb leaves behind his mother, Dustin Bachman-Roat (Lucas); father, Michael Roat; 4 brothers, Zackory Skyrme, Joshua Skyrme, Michael Roat, and Jordan Roat; great grandmother, Sherry (Chris) Lacy; great grandfather, Darwin Groves; great grandmother, Mary (Chuck) Franklin; great grandparents, Charles (Terry) Provoast; grandparents, Mark Bachman and Lesa Livingston; grandpa, Byron Ward; grandparents, Brenda (David) Pickett; grandmother, Rae Lynn Geldersma; many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Michael E. Roat, great grandfather, David A. Roat, great grandfather, John R.Skyrme, great great great grandmother, Arlene B. Crawford, great great grandfather, Alvin L. Bachman, and his oldest brother, Chance "Lil Trip" Edward Jackson Jr. The family would like to give a special thank you to all the support and love from all of the family, friends, Hurley Hospital, U of M Mott Children's Hospital Ann Arbor, and The Flint Community School District and staff. A memorial dinner will follow the service at the Eagles Club, 2149 N. Dort Hwy. A celebration of life will be held at Broome Park after the dinner.
