GRISSOM, Judith K,, of Burton, age 70, passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at McLaren Flint.

Memorial Services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 3814, 3317 East Bristol Road, Burton, Michigan.

Judith was born in Flint, March 2, 1949, daughter of the late Hubert and Alberta (Waltrip) Crooks.  She attended Southwestern High School and later Mott Community College, where she earned an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice.  She married William Grissom February 18, 1967.  Judith had two children, Lisa Serna and William (Tony) Grissom.

Judith was employed by General Motors where she was a Plant Protection officer for 18 years.  She later worked for General Motors Lansing Craft Center where she helped build the EV1 electric car.  She retired from Saginaw Steering Gear.

She was very passionate about the law.  In 1976, she became a Flint Police Reserve Officer. She then attended the Flint Police Academy where she became a certified police officer.

Surviving are:  her husband of 52 years, William Grissom;  children, Lisa Serna and Tony (Dawn) Grissom;  7 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; brother, Richard Crooks.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and brother Hubert (Lex) Crooks.
