RANKIN, Joyce Laverne, of Flint, age 81, passed away Thursday, October 8, 2015 at her residence. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Sunday, October 18, 2015 at the Plumb-Smith Funeral Home, Pastor Al Williams officiating. Cremation will follow. Joyce will lie in state at the Plumb-Smith Funeral Home, G-1208 N. Ballenger Hwy., Flint Township, where family will receive friends Noon-8 PM Saturday. A family hour will be held at the funeral home from 12 Noon until the time of service Sunday. Joyce was born in Kennett, Missouri, December 29, 1933, the daughter of the later Cletis and Annie (Pruitt) Cumpton. She loved spending time with her family, cooking, and playing Bingo. Surviving are: son, Brian K. Rankin; daughter Jodi (Eric) Bradbury-Fowler; son-in-law Edward Isom; 4 sisters; 1 brother; an abundance of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Joyce was preceded in death by her daughter Toni L. Isom, son Charles A. Rankin, brother Morris "Jack" Compton, and the love of her life Amos E. Rankin.
