PENROD, John Albert, of Burton, age 52, died Thursday, June 1, 2017. Funeral services will be held 5 PM Thursday, June 8, 2017 at the Plumb-Smith Funeral Home, Rev. Ron Scott officiating. Cremation will follow. Mr. Penrod will lie in state at the Plumb-Smith Funeral Home, G-1208 N. Ballenger Hwy., Flint Township, where family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the time of service Thursday. John was born in Flint, May 26, 1965. He graduated Genesee High School in 1984 and then enlisted in the United States Marines. He was employed at MSP Industries in Oxford, Michigan. Surviving are: son, Jonathan; daughter, Jessica; granddaughter, Lauren;his best friend and the love of his life, Valerie; mom and dad, Carol and Jerry Crossnoe; sisters, Pamela, Della, and Jenny; brothers, Scott, Jerry, and Don; niece, Val; nephews, Robert, Josh, and Travis. He was preceded in death by his father John Andy Penrod, his grandparents, a sister, and a nephew.
