DENNIS-BOOTH, Jill Darding, of Flushing Township, age 66, died Friday, September 26, 2025 at McLaren Flint Hospital after a long illness.
Jill was born February 25, 1959 in Royal Oak, Michigan. Jill graduated from Adams High School, Rochester, Michigan and from Oakland University with a BA in Journalism and went on to obtain a MA in Education & Teaching. She also served on the staff at Camp Oakland, a school for at risk youth and spent time in veterinary medicine as a vet tech.
Jill was a kind, loving and thoughtful person. Her love of family and friends was boundless. Her love of animals was her true passion. Her caring heart was shared with many cats, dogs, horses, and other farm animals. She was also active in breeding Griffon Terriers and won several awards.
She will be loved and deeply missed by her family, friends, animals, neighbors, those in the rescue community, her sweet senior dog, Gabriel, and many other friends and relatives around the world.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Sam Said; her son, Mahir Said; her sisters-in-law, Nejat Said,Donna Murfee, and Cheryl Dennis; nephews, Michael and Wesam; great niece, Sonya; her uncle, Vernon Sutton II (Sandy;) and her Aunt Joanne (Ball) Sutton; and her two nieces, Robin (Garrard) Feagan, and Sarah (Garrard) Giffin. She is also survived by the Sharpe-McCarron family and Michelle D. who cared for her during her illness.
She was preceded in her death by her loving Mother and Father, Wayne and Lou Ann Dennis, and her brother, Michael Dennis.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at the Plumb-Smith Funeral Home, The Very Reverend Dr. Jay J. Gantz officiating. Burial in Flushing Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home 11:30 AM until the time of services Wednesday.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the Genesee County Animal Control Care and Rescue.
