HANSEN, Jerry Lawrence, of Durand, age 83, died Thursday, January 21,2021 at McLaren Flint.  Cremation has taken place. Jerry  was born September 19, 1937 and grew up in a family of boys, Richard, Jack, Donald & Steven.  Not only was getting in trouble a common pastime, he carried that playfulness he knew so well throughout his life and until his passing.  Jerry always lit up a room and everyone was happy to see him from those who just met him to coworkers, neighbors, family and friends. As a retiree from GM after 40 years his commitment to work was noted by a lifetime perfect attendance achievement.  Jerry lived a full life until the age of 83 all the while still walking his dog Max daily, bike riding, maintaining a garden and his home, spending time with family, and traveling.  He is survived by his brothers Richard (Annette) Hansen, Donnie Hansen, Jack Hansen, his eldest son Larry (Heike) Hansen who will carry on his love for road trips, motorcycles and good mysteries, his son David Hansen who will carry on his love for cars and trucks, his daughter Janet Mertz who will carry on his joy for life and love, his grandson Steven (Eva) Hansen who will carry on his love of Sci Fi, specifically Star Wars, his granddaughter Jennifer (Andre) Theiss who will carry on his love for animals and good food (separately of course, Andre), his grandson Cody Arens-Hansen who will never forget his grandpa's good heart, quirky jokes and a love for a good steak, as well as grandchildren Karla Hansen, Andrea Hansen, Paige Hansen, and Tyler Hansen.
