Jay was born in West Palm Beach, Florida, December 3, 1982, the second of four children of Stephen and Nancy (Melancon) St. John.

A passionate hockey player, Jay played at the junior level and made friends wherever he went.  Known for his infectious smile and a sense of humor that brightened any room, he was a true "goofball" at heart and brought joy to those around him.  Jay had a gift for tinkering and could often be found fixing or building things.  He wore many hats in life, but his greatest calling was helping others.  He was always ready to lend a hand, even if it meant arriving a little late, he would eventually be there for anyone in need.  Recently, he rededicated his life to the Lord, embracing his faith and his true purpose.

Jay's fiancée, Cayce West, was the love of his life.  Together they shared many special memories including their recent outing to a Jelly Roll concert.  Jay was a devoted father to four wonderful children:  Vincent, Emmalyn, Jaylee, and Gracelyn, all of whom he cherished deeply.

Jay is survived by his children, Vincent, Emmalyn, Jaylee, and Gracelyn; his beloved fiancée, Cayce West; his parents, Stephen (Susan) St. John, and Nancy (Ron Blackhurst) St. John; siblings, Christian (Phil) Hinman, Emily (Dean) Craig, and Katie (Patrick) Erwin; grandmother, Christine Melancon; and a large extended family of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.  He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Jerry St. John, his grandmother, Janice Lambert, and his papa, Lawrence Melancon.
