KOAN, Janet Catherine, of Flushing, age 90, passed away at home, Saturday, May 16, 2015. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Thursday, May 21, 2015 at the Plumb-Smith Funeral Home, Rev. Jeanne Wisenbaugh officiating. Burial will be in Bendle Cemetery. Mrs. Koan will lie in state at the Plumb-Smith Funeral Home, G-1208 N. Ballenger Hwy., Flint Township, where friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 PM Wednesday. In lieu of flowers family suggests memorial contributions to Flushing United Methodist Church. Janet was born May 8, 1925 in Midland, the daughter of Floyd and Catherine Gray. She married Woodrow Koan July 2, 1965 in Midland, Michigan. He preceded her in death April 11, 2005. She loved kids and provided daycare for more than 50 years and was very active in her church. Surviving are: nieces and nephews, Vickey (Kevin) Martin, Cheryl Gray, Brian (Anna) Gray, Stephen (Ann) Gray; great nieces, Kelli Perkins and Katie (James) Smielewski; many other great and great great nieces and nephews; stepchildren, Kathy and Ward Satterlee, William Koan, Bruce Koan, and Lori Cherry. friends, Denise Hines and Dawson Yaquinto; also caregiver and close friend Dyane Hines. She was preceded in death by brothers, Kenneth Gray and Clark Gray and nephew, Michael Gray.
