IBSEN, Henrietta M., of Flint. I was born July 15, 1914, in Flint, Michigan, to Peter and Anna (Wagner) Neuens. I was a member of St. Michael's Parish and went to school there. I worked at the AC Spark Plug Company. June 16, 1944 I married Clifford L. Ibsen at Camp Helen, Texas. We lived in Flint, Michigan for five years and had two daughters, Barbara Ann and Elizabeth Louise. We then moved to Whitefish in 1951, where the kids grew up and graduated from high school. In 1970 my husband and I moved to Plains, Montana. My husband died February 22, 1985. I moved back to Michigan in 1992 where I took care of my older sisters, Louise and Elizabeth. Louise died August 6, 1993 and Elizabeth died October 1, 2002. Since then my favorite thing to do was to take care of my cats, Blackie and Goldie. They were a source of comfort for me. I also liked to feed the birds. I especially liked the Cardinals and Woodpeckers. In my yard I also had squirrels and had fun watching them scamper up and down. I loved to bake cookies and to share them. As everyone knows, sugar cookies were my favorite. I used to play 8 rounds of golf and go horseback riding, but that was years ago. I also liked to play the bingo tickets...I especially liked it when I won. I lived a good, long, life to age 101. People asked me what's my secret? I told them that every night I would ask the Lord to keep me healthy. I also would say: No men, no alcohol, and no smoking, and it would make people laugh. I am survived by my two daughters, Barb Brown and Betty Slater; 6 grandchildren, Venessa, Bradd, Jered, Erron, Michael, and James; 5 great grandchildren, Harmonee, Austin, Garrett, James, and Macen. I died September 1, 2015 at my home. A memorial service for me will be held 11 AM Saturday, September 5, 2015 at the Plumb-Smith Funeral Home. I have been cremated.
