MARCUM, Elna, of Burton, age 89, died Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Ascension Genesys Hospital.  Funeral services will be held 1 PM Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at the Plumb-Smith Funeral Home, Josh Rupert officiating.  Private burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Owosso.  Mrs. Marcum will lie in state at the Plumb-Smith Funeral Home, G-1208 N. Ballenger Hwy., Flint Township, where friends may visit 10 AM until the time of service Wednesday.  Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, face coverings are required and social distancing is encouraged.   Elna was born in Corunna, Michigan April 27, 1931, the daughter of James and Louise (Palmer) Newman.  Surviving are:  2 daughters, Marie Palmer and Violet Hunt; 2 sons, James Marcum and Alfred Marcum; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister Caroline Gross of Louisiana; many nieces and nephews.  Mrs. Marcum is preceded in death by her husband Alfred, daughter Jane Alice, sons-in-law Barry and Chuck, daughter-in-law Lynette, and granddaughter Tara.
