WEILAND, Douglas K., of Grand Blanc, age 74, died Saturday, August 3, 2024 at The Oaks of Woodfield.  Cremation has taken place.  Doug was born in Dallas, Texas, February 17, 1950.  A GMI graduate, he received his Masters Degree in Administration from Central Michigan University.  Among his many pursuits was a time as the Deputy Genesee County Clerk, and several years as the director of the Genesee County Land Bank.  He was very active in Democratic Party politics and had been a friend and advisor to many government leaders.  He married Sherry Stacey in 1981.  He is survived by his wife, Sherry; daughter, Lisa (Brad) Rich; son Scott (Dana) Weiland; grandchildren, Hunter and Cooper; and many nieces and nephews.
