Obituary

WHEELER, Dorothy Mae, of Genesee Township, age 82, departed this life Wednesday, December 2, 2020, at home.  Her life will be celebrated 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at the Plumb-Smith Funeral Home, Rev. Bruce Badder and Rev. Vaughn Eller officiating.  Burial will be at Sunset Hills Cemetery.  Mrs. Wheeler will lie in state at the Plumb-Smith Funeral Home, G-1208 North Ballenger Highway, Flint Township, where friends may visit 3:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. Monday.  Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic face coverings are required and social distancing is recommended.  Dorothy was born in Bell County, Kentucky, October 22, 1938, the daughter of James and Estella (Carter) Slusher.  She married Charles Edward Wheeler of West Virginia, June 1, 1956.  She was a loving wife and mother.  She always held fast to her faith and was the perfect example of a mothers love and a child of God.  SHe was employed at GNC in Courtland Center of over 30 years.  Surviving are:  husband, Charles Wheeler, Sr.; son, Charles Wheeler, Jr. and wife Barbra; daughter, Michelle Yvonne Wheeler Hendricks and husband Carl of Oklahoma; 10 grandchildren; many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; sister, Hedy Hamilton of Flint; nephew, Cornell Hamilton of Lake Orion; nieces, Sandy and Debbie both of Flint.  She was preceded in death by her parents, sons Orlan Dylan, Johnnie Lee, and Mark Wayne, daughter Darlene Kay, brothers John Dudley Slusher and Lee Finley Slusher
