Obituary

SMITH, Donna May, of Burton, age 80, passed away Monday, April 29, 2019 at her sons residence in Clio, Michigan.  In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place.  Memorial services will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, May 4, 2019 at the Plumb-Smith Funeral Home, G-1208 N. Ballenger Hwy., Flint Township, Keith Williams officiating.  Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until the time of service Saturday.  Donna was born May 23, 1938 in Marquette, Michigan, the daughter of Joseph and Ruth (Larson) LaJeunesse.  She had five brothers and three sisters.  Following her marriage she moved to Flint where she raised five children.  One of Donna's favorite pastimes was decorating homes.  Whether she was at your house or you were at hers, rearranging a knick-knack, or even the furniture, was a good part of your visit.  She also loved to sit down with a teacup of coffee and share the latest news, fashion, cosmetic tips, her latest thrift shop finds, and what happened on The Voice that week.  She enjoyed solving mysteries and watched many t. v. detective shows, Dateline being her favorite.  Donna loved the Lord and Sunday mornings were joyfully spent watching her favorite ministry programs.   Donna will be lovingly remembered by her children, Terry Rappley of Flint, Michael December of Clio, Kim (Terry) Berry of Greenville, South Carolina, Penny Bartsoff of Davison, and Kirk (Rachel) Mannor of Clio.  Also surviving are 14 awesome grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; sister, Debbie LaJeunesse of Marquette; brothers, Louis Rosenthal of Marquette, Dick (Paulette) LaJeunesse of Greenbay, Wisconsin, John LaJeunesse of Marquette; many dear nieces and nephews; and special friend Sharon Campbell. She was preceded in death by her parents, her stepmother Sylivia LaJeunesse, and four siblings, Harold (Lois) Bergstrom, Kenneth (Cookie) LaJeunesse, Lois Jean Cheek, and Marilyn (Gordon) Burgin, brother-in-law, John Cheek; and special friends Melvin (Andy) and Shirley Bartsoff.  Many thanks to Rachel, for her kindnesses; Johnny for singing and making her memories come alive; and to all the Medical Team Hospice staff, especially Mary, truly our blessing.
