In Memory of Dave Booth, Who Hated Mushy Sentimentality: Records show that on February 1st, 2017, the number of "F-bombs" uttered by the human population abruptly plummeted 50%. Experts say this phenomenon may be correlated with the passing of David Booth.
Dave worked for GM for over 30 years. He was sober for two of them. During his time at GM, Dave made a lot of great friends (though he'd never admit it) and collected many weird, amazing, and "is this really true?" stories he'd share with anyone who had functioning eardrums.

During Dave's younger and slimmer years, sports was LIFE. He played about every sport under the sun. Softball, blooper ball, basketball, flag football… you name it. He was damn good at all of them. His softball teams won multiple championships. He collected dozens of trophies. He won three national flag football championships. His flag football team was even inducted into the Flint Sports Hall of Fame in 2016.

Yeah, Dave "I love my La-Z-Boy" Booth really did all that.
When Dave wasn't busy being a highly decorated athlete or eating, he'd complain about the Detroit Red Wings being "sissies." And when he wasn't doing that, he enjoyed spending time with friends. That may seem hard to believe, but it's 100% true.

If you were Dave's friend, you probably thought he didn't like you. That's because Dave communicated in code. "You're an a**hole" meant "You're a great friend." Calling you a "pr*ck" was his way of saying, "You're one of my best buds." And not answering your phone calls for 10 years meant "Look, I like you, but I like TV more." If you were his friend, there is no doubt you're in at least one of those crazy stories he'd always tell. That's how you knew you made it onto the short list of people he could tolerate being around.
As you know, Dave had a favorite four-letter "F" word… food. The only thing he loved more than food were his nieces and nephews (probably). Dave may not have had biological kids, but his nieces and nephews were like children to him. Statistics show that Dave said "I love you" approximately zero times in his life (unless you count the time he said it to a bucket of chicken wings). Even though showing affection wasn't his strong suit, Dave sure had a whole lotta love for his nieces and nephews.

You could tell when he'd babysit them and try to get them to fall asleep by using Judas Priest songs as lullabies. Or when he'd bring them on way-too-long road trips through uncharted areas of Genesee County. Or when he'd take them onto the roof of the garage to sit, even though they were barely old enough to walk (grandma didn't like that one). Or when he'd let them waltz into his home, steal his remote, and change the channel from whatever he was watching. (If you knew Dave, you knew you must be pretty important to him if he let you mess with his TV.)

Simply put, Dave loved spending time with his nieces and nephews, and he did so in his own "Dave" way. Right now, Dave is likely in Heaven dropping F-bombs on God for the lack of Iron Maiden songs, and because Jesus will turn water into wine but not Jack Daniels.
He is survived by his loving siblings, beautiful nieces, and exceptionally handsome nephews. He will be deeply missed by all.
