KUTA, Darik Alan, of Raleigh, North Carolina, age 33, died Thursday, April 23, 2020 near Springfield, Oregon, the result of an automobile accident. Darik was born in Frankfurt Am Main, West Germany, March 21, 1987, the son of David A and Sherri (Beckman) Kuta. Darik enlisted in the U. S. Army in August 2006 and served over 5 years. He was a very loving father to his only child, Dorian L. Kuta, age 11. Darik was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hiking and camping. He was a very loving and giving man who enjoyed a good laugh and was immensely proud of his family. Darik was very caring and loyal to the numerous people he was proud to call family. He was known for his joking manner but more for the ways he checked in on those friends he considered extended family, to simply see "how they were doing". Darik valued his family bonds more than anything and was extremely proud of his son and his sisters and brother. Surviving are: father, David A. (Serene) Kuta of Sacramento, California, mother, Sherri Kuta of Wake Forest, North Carolina; son, Dorian L. Kuta of Wake Forest, North Carolina; sisters, Breanna (Matthew) McGovern of Wake Forest, North Carolina and Kaitlyn Kuta of Wake Forest, North Carolina; brother, Tyler Kuta of Wake Forest, North Carolina; Grandparents, Marguerite L. Mellow and Darwin L. Groves II, both of Flint, Michigan; uncles, Rick Beckman of Grand Blanc, Michigan, Charlie VanLandegham of Davison, Vance (Cathy) Kuta of Flint, Michigan, Brandon (Misty) Adams of Apex, North Carolina, Gerald Beckman of Grand Blanc, Michigan, and Shawn J. Groves of Flint, Michigan ; aunts, Jeannie (Ed) Bone of Clio, Kathy (Jim) Stone of Gaines, Michigan, Tammy (Gary) Ray of Burton, Michigan, Tracy Smith of Linden, Michigan, Tresa Smith of Grand Blanc, Michigan, Cathy Atkins of Sarasota, Florida and Bridgett Groves - Ives of Grand Blanc; numerous cousins and great aunts and uncles from Michigan. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Edith and Donald Beckman, uncles Walter Smith, Dennis L. Groves and cousin Erik Beckman. Services for Darik will be announced later due to the current N.C. restrictions on gatherings.
