GLEASON, Dale Arthur of Grand Blanc, age 86, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and friends on April 14, 2017. Dale was born on August 2, 1930 in Owosso, Michigan to Clyde Gleason and Lottie Worthington Gleason. After graduating from Owosso High School in 1948, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where he served for four years. After an honorable discharge from military service, he pursued his education at Michigan State University where he attained a Bachelor's of Arts degree in 1958. Dale also served his country as a Seabee reservist in the U.S. Navy. He also taught and inspired many of his students where he taught high school art for 30 years. He retired from teaching at Flint Central High School in 1990. Dale was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and loved to share his knowledge and love of the gospel with everyone he met. He married his lovely sweetheart, Constance Jeane Holman on November 8, 1952 who preceded him in death in 1997. Constance and Dale raised 5 loving children who survive them; Marcia Joy Leix (Paul) of Kaysville, Utah; Kent Arthur Gleason (Sarah) of Saratoga Springs, Utah; Dawn Christine Cole (Douglas) of Grand Blanc, Michigan; Margaret Eleanor Gleason of Gaines, Michigan; and Jonathan Patrick Gleason (Suzanne) of Shelby Twp., Michigan. Also surviving him are nineteen adoring grandchildren; Emily Leix, Adam Leix (Kimberly), Rachel Smith (Gary), Makayla Gleason, Connor Gleason, Rachel Crouch, Spencer Crouch, Katelyn Boose (Dion), Eric Addy (Sarah), Lindsey Miles, William Miles, Matthew Miles, Jack Gleason, Andrew Gleason, Katie Gleason and eight great-grandchildren; Noah Leix, Michael Leix, Sophia Leix, Isabelle Leix, Christian Leix, Juliet Leix, Charlotte Smith and Carter Boose. Dale was preceded in death by both of his devoted parents, his brother Wayne Gleason; his sister-in-law Donabelle Gleason; his sister Maxine Holden; son-in-law, Paul Leix, and daughter-in-law Sharlene Gleason. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, April 21, 2017 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 4285 McCandlish Rd. Grand Blanc, MI. Burial will be in the Sunset Hills Cemetery in Flint, Michigan. The family will receive visitors at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Thursday, April 20, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. and on Friday, April 21, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:45 a.m. Flowers may be sent to the church on Thursday 9:00 a.m.– 8:00 p.m. and Friday 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
