PROPES, Christopher James, of Burton, age 59, died Wednesday, July 19, 2017. Funeral services will be held 5 PM Monday, July 24, 2017 at the Plumb-Smith Funeral Home, Rev. Charles Yoder officiating. Cremation will follow. Final interment will be at Glenwood Cemetery. Mr. Propes will lie in state at the Plumb-Smith Funeral Home, G-1208 N. Ballenger Hwy., Flint Township, where friends may visit 10AM until the time of service Monday. In lieu of flowers family suggest contributions to a family memorial fund. Envelopes available at the funeral home. Christopher was born in Toledo, Ohio, November 7, 1957, the son of James G. and Barbara Ann (Fair) Propes. He enjoyed pool, hunting, fishing, spending time with family and friends, and garage sales. Surviving are: children, Tonya and George Scales, Christal and Randy Wheeler, Tracy and Scott Mockerman, James (and fiance Ashley Burdis) Propes, and Wayne Putney; grandchildren, David Propes, George Scales III, Micah Scales, McKinley Scales, Sakaree Scales, Sara Jane Propes, Melisa Wheeler, John Nichols, Keely Nichols, Lyndsey Nichols, Owen Nichols, RaeAnna Mockerman, Olivia Mockerman, Preston Mockerman, Kylie Waldie, Kaleb Rye, Oliva Arcond, Alanna Arcond, and Wayne Putney, Jr.; great grandchild, Allie Vollmer; siblings, Mary and Dave Promenchenkel, Timothy Propes, Ruth Propes, Stephan Marsh, and Cheryl and Charlie Ketchum. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Matthew Propes, and Daniel Propes, parents James and Barbara Propes, and his wife, Yvonne Louise Propes.
