LUCHENBILL, Brooks John, Jr., of Flint, formerly of Denver, Colorado, age 72, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, May 22, 2020 at his home surrounded by his daughter, Erin, and his grandchildren.  Burial will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to your local humane society.  Brooks was born in Durand, Michigan, June 28, 1947 the son of Brooks and Josephine (DuRocher) Luchenbill.  He was a Vietnam Veteran and was very proud of his service in the United States Navy.  Brooks had an undying love for animals.  He worked at Max Fund and Denver Humane Society.  A local newspaper in Denver did a short story on him and his exceptional care and love for the dogs.  He was also a huge music buff.  He knew anything and everything about Music and was proud of his 7,000 plus album collection.  He would often play DJ at home for friends.  Surviving are:  2 daughters, Erin Luchenbill and fiance Jeremy Farver of Flint, and Crystal Newby and fiance Steve Warden of Burton; son, Eric Luchenbill (Sarah) of Hawaii; grandchildren, Brandon White of Burton, Kailani White of Owosso, and Justin McDonough of Flint; great grandchikdren, Keiana, Brynn, Braxton, Kenzli, Kylie, Tyler, Elijah, and Ez; sisters, France (Doug) Eldridge, Lela (Jim) Goodrich of Lennon, and Lisa (Steve Worden) Willis of Owosso; several nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Lavern Luchenbill, and nephew James Goodrich.  Special thank you to Jeremy Farver and Allison Pedroza for making sure he got home from Denver so he could be surrounded by family when he passed away.
