GARLAND, Bernadette, formerly of Mount Morris Twp., age 92, died Sunday, April 23, 2017 at Regency, Grand Blanc. Cremation has taken place. Mrs. Garland was born in Washburn, Wisconsin, May 1, 1924, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Joshush) Vizanko. She married William Garland in September, 1947. He preceded her in death September 30, 2002. Mrs. Garland taught knitting and crocheting for Mott Adult education, she loved and followed the Detroit Tigers, and enjoyed Jeopardy. She had abundant knowledge of Michigan history and of Michigan's lakes and ships. Bernadette kept abreast of national news and was an avid reader of the newspaper and of Nora Robert and romance novels She was known for the goose that adorned her apartment stoop with outfits for every season and holiday. Surviving are: 3 daughters, Ms. Patricia Koch of Swartz Creek, Jeannine Osterman of Mt. Morris and Ms. Karen Lamb of Buffalo, New York; son, Thomas W. (Linda) Garland of Grand Blanc; 6 grandchildren, Robin (Scott) Cook, Eric (Kendra) Koch, Amy (Charles) Menard, James (Maureen) Davie, David Osterman, and Daniel Osterman; 7 great grandchildren, Lori Cook, Nathan Cook, Zachary Cook, Connor Davie, Brendan Davie, William Koch, and Alexandra Koch; sisters, Isabel Moe and Arlene Danish; brother, Donald Vizanko. She was also preceded in death by grandson Stephen Csapo, son-in-law Douglas Koch, brother Richard Vizanko, and sister Janet Vizanko.
