Anderson , Barbara Sue, of Mundy Township, age 83, passed away peacefully, July 14, 2026, at McLaren Flint Hospital.
Born July 3, 1943, in Malden Missouri, Barbara lived a life defined by compassion, strength, and an unwavering dedication to caring for others. As a Registered Nurse, she devoted nearly four decades to serving her community, working from 1970 until her retirement in 2008. Throughout her distinguished nursing career, she cared for countless patients at McLaren Hospital, St. Joseph Hospital, and Genesys Hospital, where she ultimately retired. Nursing was more than a profession to Barbara—it was her calling, and she touched the lives of many through her kindness, skill, and gentle heart.
Above all else, Barbara cherished her family. She was a caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt whose greatest joy was simply being with her family, listening, laughing and sharing in the everyday moments of their lives..
Barbara is lovingly survived by her Aunt, Betty Wunning of St. Louis; her son, Morris "Mick" Powell of Flint; her daughters, Kim Savage of Brighton and Randee Trimble of Ann Arbor; her brothers, Larry Roland of Flint and Lonny Roland of Winter Haven; her sister, Michelle McBride of Flint; her niece, Olivia McBride; her great-nephew Calvin McBride; her beloved grandchildren, Brandon (Meg) Budd, Alexandria Wilkinson, Joshua Keeney, and Nicole (Wyll) Wilkinson; her treasured great-grandchildren, Zachary Budd, Alexis Keeney, Jesse Budd, Teagan McLaughlin, Ashton Hughes and Raven McLaughlin
Barbara will be remembered for her quiet strength, playful humor, caring heart, and the countless lives she touched both personally and professionally. Her legacy of compassion and selfless service will remain an inspiration to her family, friends, former colleagues, and all those fortunate enough to have known her.
Though our hearts are heavy with her passing, we find comfort in the many wonderful memories she leaves behind and in knowing that her love will forever remain with us.
A Celebration of Life event will be held on August 23, 2026 at her daughters home located at 8436 Woodland Shore, Brighton MI 48114 from 12pm - 5pm
