Obituary

CONKLE, Albert Lee, of Swartz Creek, age 82, was welcomed into Paradise by the promise of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, February 26, 2021, at Swartz Creek, Michigan.

According to Lee's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 728 Villa St., Racine, Wisconsin, Rev. John Roekle officiating. Private final interment will be held at that time in Forest Hill Cemetery, Oak Creek, Wisconsin.  Memorial contributions may be made to First Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Lee, as all his friends and family called him, was born November 25, 1938 in Griffin, Georgia, son of the late Thomas Arthur Conkle and Rosie Lee Alford Conkle. As a young man, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he met the love of his life, Barbara Ann Baker. He left the military and married Barb. Soon afterwards they were blessed with 3 lovely daughters: Debra, Donna, and Betty Jean.

Lee found work as a machinist and tool and die maker at J.I. Case Company, from which he retired.  He enjoyed his family, sheepshead, camping, fishing, and family vacations.

In 2017, he lost his love, Barbara Ann Conkle, unexpectedly.

Surviving are: 3 daughters, Debra Agallar of Racine, Wisconsin, Donna (Scott) Freimark of Holly, Michigan, and Betty (Thomas Schultz) Conkle of Adrian, Michigan; grandchildren, Eric (Kristi) Gatzke of Clarksville, Indiana, Johnathan Agallar of Lillyington, N.C., Matthew (Rachel) Freimark of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Rhonda (Dave) Thomason of Holly, Michigan, Daniel (Alyse) Steinke of Adrian, Michigan, Carolynn (Robbie) Terry of Adrian, Michigan, and Kristen (Nathan) Blaker of Adrian, Michigan; great-grandchildren, Jordyn, Noah, Andrew, Rebekah, and Hannah Gatzke, Lily and Isabella Freimark, Joshua and Jordan Thomason, Payton, Raelynn, and Laurel Steinke, and Mallory and Aubrey Blaker.

In addition to his wife he is preceded in death by his sister, Helen Conkle Wood, brothers, Tommy Conkle and Grover Conkle, and son-in-law, Henry Agallar.
